It is no secret that Peyton Royce and Billie Kay share a stronger bond than the relationship shared between colleagues. Royce and Kai went to high school together, and joined the WWE in 2015, as well as their pro wrestling careers.
The Australian duo have long been a tag team and the alliance ended abruptly on WWE TV in August last year.
Fans of The IIconics were not expecting WWE to pull the plug on the team, but this is exactly what happened in the Raw episode as the company tried to push Peyton Royce as a single superstar.
Billie Kay was sent to SmackDown, where she is a revelation as a comic character.
Recently during an interview with SK Wrestling Rick Uchino, Peyton Royce opened up about Billy’s work after The IIconics split.
Royce believed that Billy was flourishing in his new role, and also called his former tag team partner Genius. Roy was happy to see KI recognized and TV time. However, Royce also stated that WWE broke his heart by breaking IIconics.
Here’s what Peyton Royce had to say:
“SHE RIGHT NOW IT IS COMPLETE. SHE IS AN ABSOLUTE GENIUS, AND I’M VERY HAPPY FOR WHAT SHE’S DOING ON SMACKDOWN LIVE. I DO NOT KNOW IF I WILL EVER REACH IT. IT WAS LIKE, IT RIPPED MY HEART APART, AND I’M STILL TRYING TO BRING THOSE PIECES BACK. “
Peyton Royce explained that she is still searching for her feet without Billie Kay, and that she is getting to grips with living without her longtime partner.
Instead of pushing Royce as a solo star, which was reportedly the intended plan, WWE paired him with Lacey Evans on Monday Night RAW.
Peyton Royce is currently scheduled to compete in the Women’s Royal Rumble match, and she definitely wants to win the match and book a spot in a fascinating title match at WrestleMania.
Royce revealed more during the upcoming PPV, his favorite Rumble moment and SK Wrestling interview.
